The foundation stone of the building of Shyamlal Saraswati Mahavidyalaya, Shikarpur was laid on 16 December 1994 by the hands of the former Prime Minister of our country, Late Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji by Saraswati Shiksha Samiti Shikarpur which was registered Under the Societies Registration Act 1860.
With the aim of promoting girl child education, B. Sc. (Maths ,Bio) ,B.Sc.(Biotechnology),BCA,M.Sc.(Maths,Chemistry,Biotechnology),M.A,(Home Science), B.Ed, M.Ed.and BA course is conducted in the college, in which Hindi, English, Economics, sociology, politics, Sanskrit, education, history along with two experimental subjects, painting and home science.
In the construction of this institution, native and non-resident Indians of the area are Shri. Ramesh Chandra Gupta ji, Shri. Meghraj Gupta ji, Shri. Vijay Gupta ji, Shri. Narendra Kumar Gupta ji and Shri. Bhupendra Gupta ji has given its valuable financial support in the memory of his father Late Shri. Shyam Lalji.
